Everyday Performances
November 2022
I had the privilege of designing a floral backdrop for the Everyday Performances event hosted by Mary Lawson with Front Porch Investments. The theme for the event was Housing Rights and each participating artist was asked to consider “What is home to you?” as they created their work for the event. The floral sculpture stood as a backdrop for the stage featuring performances by Dex Arbor, S1SW and HAKIM with poetry by Maritza Estrada and glass sculpture installations by Aspen LaBoy. In addition to the floral backdrop, I created a “morning scene” that the flowers essentially grew out of—implying that the feeling and comfort of home often resides in the mundane, every day rituals.
Many thanks to Mary for organzing such a beautiful evening in collaboration with Front Porch Investments and the Populus Fund!
